Campus Program
Eligibility & Criteria.
We seek individuals with a distinct eye and an unwavering commitment to truth.
Who Can Apply
The Imagine Campus Program is open to actively enrolled university students (undergraduate or postgraduate) in India. You must have at least one full academic year remaining at your institution at the time of application.
Preferred Backgrounds
While a formal education in photography or journalism is not required, a strong portfolio demonstrating an understanding of documentary storytelling is essential. We welcome applicants from all academic disciplines who can show their dedication to visual narratives.
Time Commitment
Being a Campus Intern is a demanding but rewarding role. Expect to dedicate approximately 5–8 hours per week. This includes shooting, editing, community engagement, and the Weekly Toolkit exercises.
Selection Criteria
- Visual literacy — a portfolio showing an understanding of composition, lighting, and narrative flow.
- Authenticity — a demonstrated commitment to unmanipulated, truthful storytelling.
- Initiative — evidence of self-directed projects or proactive engagement within your community.
- Alignment — a clear understanding of Imagine's core values and mission.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need professional gear?
No. While professional gear helps, we have appointed interns who shoot exclusively on advanced smartphones or older DSLRs. The eye matters more than the tool.
Is this a paid position?
The Campus Program is a fellowship, not a salaried position. Interns receive funding for campus activities, complimentary access to the Annual Seminar, and potential grants for exceptional photo essays.
Can I reapply if rejected?
Yes. We encourage applicants to develop their portfolios and reapply in the next cohort cycle.
