Narendra Bisht is a seasoned photojournalist and currently serves as the Photo Editor at Outlook Magazine. He specializes in editorial, reportage, and documentary photography.

Following in the footsteps of his father, who was a photography instructor, Bisht picked up his first camera at the age of nine. Despite his parents’ concerns, he began his photography career at 18. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and has worked with renowned publications such as India Today, The Times of India, The Economic Times, Dainik Jagran, and several international journals.

Bisht has received the prestigious Red Ink Award for ‘Excellence in Journalism’ for his impactful coverage of the Muzaffarnagar riot victims in 2014. In 1998, he was honored by the Vice President of India for his work on literacy, and in 1991, he won the Instant Photography Award from the Delhi Government’s Education Department. Throughout his career, he has covered significant events like the Iraq war, the Kashmir conflict, illegal diamond mining in Chhattisgarh, and various human interest stories across India and Sri Lanka, such as the post-tsunami scenario in the region
