Mr. Alexander Belenky started his career as an engineer but switched to photography at the age of 28. He worked as a Staff Photographer for various daily newspapers, including “Smena,” which has a daily circulation of 300,000. He was also associated with Izhorets and the business newspaper “Kommersant-daily.” In addition to his newspaper work, Alexander freelanced for magazines in Russia such as “Ogonyek,” “Newsweek,” “Pulse,” and “Moscow Times.” He served as a staff photographer for “The St. Petersburg Times,” an English-language newspaper. His work has been featured in major publications like the Sunday Times, Boston Globe, Guardian, and several times in the New York Times.

He collaborated with colleagues from Finland and Sweden to publish photos in various newspapers and reputable magazines in those countries. His photographs have also appeared in several books and guidebooks published in Cyprus and Rome. His books, published by Peter Publishing House, include titles like “School of Skill,” “Digital Photography,” “Photography in Difficult Situations,” and “Digital Photography: School of Excellence.” Mr. Belenky was also the still photographer for the acclaimed film “Russian Ark,” directed by the award-winning Alexander Sokurov.
